12 Types of Protected Orchids

TYPES OF FLOWERS – You must know orchids, right? Flowers that have a unique and beautiful shape. Well, there are many types of this orchid in the world. In fact, there are many types in Indonesia.

Well, among these types, there are several orchids that are included in the protected list. There are about 29 species of endangered orchids that are protected in Indonesia. In accordance with Government Regulation No. 7 of 1999 concerning Preservation of Plants and Animals.

Indonesia is a country with the second largest orchid diversity after Brazil. Of the 26,000 species of orchids in the world, about 5,000-6,000 species are found in Indonesia. Of the various types, not a few are endemic plants in Indonesia.

Well, it’s better to just look at some of the pictures of rare orchids that are protected in Indonesia.

 

West Kalimantan Moon Orchid

The scientific name of the West Kalimantan moon orchid is Paraphalaenopsis serpentilingua. It has white flowers and has yellow and red patterns. This orchid flower looks stunning with a combination of colors and shapes.

Mustache Shoes

The scientific name of the mustache sandal is Paphiopedilum chamberlainianum. This orchid flower has a shape like a pitcher’s bag and is hairy.

Maybe because this orchid is hairy, it’s called a mustache shoe orchid. The flower color is a mix of green and purple, very suitable and beautiful.

Fast Orchid

The scientific name of the Butan Orchid is Ascocentrum miniatum. It’s not because you’re often speeding, then you’re given the name speeding.

Orchid with orange color is very beautiful because many flowers clustered in one stalk. But remember, this is a rare orchid, its existence is protected by the state. As a good citizen, we must preserve nature so that this orchid does not become extinct from the world.

Spoon Orchid

Star Moon Orchid

The scientific name of the star moon orchid is Paraphalaenopsis denevei. It is named the stellar moon because of its star-like shape. It has five petals and there is a moon shaped in the middle. The color of this orchid is very beautiful and attractive.

Emerald Orchid

The emerald orchid has the Latin name Dendrobium macrophyllum. The flowers have feathers like rambutan fruit. The outside is like rambutan skin and the inside still has petals.

Hartinah Orchid

The Latin name for the Hartinah orchid is Cymbidium hartinahianum. The name of this orchid is very Indonesian, Hartinah.

The flowers have almost the same shape as the others. The difference is in the color and size of the flowers. The flowers are purple and there is a gradation with a cream color.

Orange Orchid

The scientific name of the orange orchid is Renanthera matutina. It has an orange color and has a dotted motif like a leopard.

Ki Aksara Orchid

Orchid ki script Latin name is Macodes petola. The orchid plants are green and have a motif like a flash of lightning. The flowers have a small size.

Larat Orchid

This type of larat orchid has a scientific name, namely Dendrobium phalaenopsis. This orchid flower has a very striking color, dark purple.

Black Orchid

The black orchid has the scientific name Coelogyne pandurata. Although the flowers are green, but in the middle there is a black color, so it is called a black orchid.

Strawberry Orchid

The strawberry orchid has the scientific name Dendrobium lasianthera. The color is a mix of purple, yellow and white. The petals have a unique shape and are different from the others, spiral in shape.
